Afghan Widows and Orphans Benefit for Mother's Day, Fremont, Ca
Tara is committed to working and contributing through her performances to organizations and projects which support positive change in Central Asia, in communities of the Central Asian diaspora and beyond. The vibrant cultures, art, history and hospitality that Central Asia is famous for are a great source of inspiration for Tara's artistic work and personal drive.
Tara has worked as worked in a non-profit capacity in the Persian, Afghan and South Asian Bay Area communities for women's advocacy through the non-profit organizations such as Narika. She has served as a drama consultant in some of the most rural and conservative regions of Tajikistan creating gender equality curriculum with funding from the U.S. Embassy and most recently creating movement therapy work in Baku, Azerbaijan at a women's warehouse to relieve and support more joyfulness. Artistically, Tara has continually donated her time to Bay Area non-profit organizations such as:
